A true legend played at Sunst HQ on Friday the 2nd of December. A man who has performed with the likes of Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg and played with some of the greatest blues players of his generation, from the late T-Bone Walker to John Coltrane. 

This is blues straight from downhome Delta, this is blues with a New Wave lick and Hip Hop kiss. This is Blues, Blues Blues, Motherfucker!

SÉANCE #10 • PHOEBE KILLDEER & THE SHORT STRAWS

  

Last night’s concert was adored by all who came and deplored by those who didn't. Phoebe Killdeer & The Short Straws turned Berlin Music Broadcast on its head and played with such feverish severity that only the few words spoken by the singer, between songs, gave respite. 

 

With a stripped back ensemble, the depleted band made up for their missing comrades with a glorious intensity. Never before had Berlin Music Broadcast tested the patience of its neighbours to such a degree, - although with songs like these, even the neighbours must have thought better of complaining.

Back to the brutes of reichenberger strasse some slumdog indianers from istanbul had something special up their sleeves. These harbingers of heartbreak were not as sweet as they sounded and lost a bra strap with the crookes finger´s of a broken hand.

Electronic sound experience and the artist max frisinger fried our brains out - yes the visual attacked your eyes like wasps and the sound bounced mercillesly off your breastbone. Did you go home and listen to the foo fighters?

After the "Down by the River" Festival, the Folkpunk Legend came by the Sunst Studio to have a Cheescake and some Coffee... Was a great hang and he played a few songs for us.
